As ever with fanfic, some stories hit better than others, a handful of kudos vs a couple thousand. And at this point I can generally guess which will have a strong response, which won't. And as 85% of the time I am writing for myself I am okay with however it shakes out.
I knew my Kingsman Demon Verse series would be well received.
But I didn't know how well.
I cannot believe the wonderful response this absurd series is getting, and I am so very appreciative. The kudos, the effusive comments, are really reminding me how lucky a writer I am.
If you like Kingsman fics, where half the characters are demons summoned accidentally via cheap ass ouija boards consider checking out:
Missing: 4 Demons (If Found Return to Hell)
The series has three stories so far and is just getting going.
The one thing I have difficulty doing is writing PWP. I need plot and depth and feels. Most times when I set out to write PWP we end up with full length fics that happen to have some seriously hot sex in them (see my kingsman bdsm fic Hands are Bound, or what was supposed to be just tentacle sex Secret Bonds of a Monstrous Soul). And generally this is fine, but sometimes you just want people doing the do.
I finally figured out a solution for myself. Let myself write the established base universe lots of plot and feels and then leave it open ended and then write all the wacky filth I want. Seems to work. Wrote the long first part and then easy peasy was able to write 4.5k of fourway intensity without having to worry about context or emotional concerns because those were previously established.
Yay super smut.

Summary: Roxane Morton's only life goal was to join the elite group that was the Duke's guards. During her training though, the Duke and his Captain of the Guard swore she was a spy and threw her in the dungeon to await trial and death. There she learned that the previous Captain of the Guard might be alive, not killed in battle like they were told. She manages to escape figuring he is her only chance to prove her innocence. He was heroic and honourable, he was Captain Merlin - children were told stories of him.
Only she finds an angry and tired man, who travels with a hawk, and disappears at night. And there is another man only a little older than her that sometimes appears in the night and is so sad and so beautiful.
She just wanted to clear her name, she didn't want to fall into magic, and schemes, and lovers torn apart. She was a soldier, she didn't believe in camp fire tales.
But it is hard to disbelieve, when you find yourself in one.
I am so proud of this story. And to be very clear you do not have to have seen the movie to enjoy this fic. If you love strong characters and high romance, and hints of magic, then this might be the story for you.

Summary:It is the late Regency period and Harry Hart is a gentleman well embraced by society. Charming, clever, fashionable and everything you could want beside you at a party. Society is quite happy for him when he inherits the title of Marquess. He is less so because the title comes with insurmountable debt, a number he can't even fathom or think how to escape.
Merlin is a man of great wealth, and fearsome intellect. He wants the world for his niece, Roxy, but cannot give it to her, he is too Scottish, too brash, and the money too much acquired in trade.
Both men are trapped and there is only one way forward, a marriage of convenience, no matter how they personally feel about each other. Merlin will restore Harry's title, Harry will grant access to society for Roxy. It is a bargain well met.
They don't like each other, but as we all know in stories like these, one day they will love each other.
