 Day 1

Talk about your Happy Place - things that give you joy, keep you calm or sane

Creation

My happy place is really two things hanging with my guys (husband, 5 year old, and our idiot cat). That makes me happy and fills my belief that the world fundamentally is a good place.

But my other happy place the one that offers personal fulfillment is in creation. I don't believe that idle hands are the devil's playthings, but...I like my hands to be busy. And that means a lot of crafting - crocheting, sewing, cross stich, polymer clay bead, spinning yarn, and embroidery. And it also means writing. Our son knows and thinks this is natural that parents need creative time to feel good about themselves. That when Mommy and Daddy are being creative it is their time, and he has creative time too.

I write as much as time allows, and I write fanfic. I love fandom but not really for fandom itself but for the people I meet and the stories we tell. My happy place is worldbuilding, twisting characters we know and love into insane and different circumstances but keeping them who they are. And I love bringing outside OCs into worlds to watch these characters and show their strengths and weaknesses and have people utterly believe the OC could fit in this space. It is the best sandbox ever.

Being able to create something and add good to the world is such a wonderful thing, and it's great your son is learning the same! Idle hands may not be the devil's playthings, but not having a hobby to de-stress and vent your feelings is a very dangerous thing! Also idiot cats are the best. I don't even know him, but I already love him lmao
